Can't Be Tamed is the latest album by Miley Cyrus set to be released on June 22, 2010. The album, forwarded by its first single of the same name, represents Miley growing into her own self as a young woman. The goal of the album is to show Miley in this new light of being older than the public has seen her. It features producers like Antonina Armato, Tim James, and John Shanks. The sound of this album is described by Miley as having a "techno vibe" for the summer. She also stated that it has more of a "pop" sound than what she's explored before but with an "edge." This will also be Miley's last album before taking a hiatus from music to pursue more film and acting time. The release of the album will be accompanied with a deluxe CD/DVD version with the DVD containing never-before-seen videos of Miley's sold out Wonder World Tour in 2009. No Miley fan can wait for June 22, 2010 to pick up this "good to blast in your car" album. To pre-order the album, you can follow these links to Amazon.com. Saying “everyone has the right to love each other,” Miley Cyrus dedicated a song Monday to her gay fans, Us Magazine reported.
Cyrus made her dedication in Los Angeles, where she was performing at the House of Blues.
While performing the title single from her third studio album Can’t Be Tamed, the 17-year-old Hanna Montana star once again swooped down on a female dancer and the pair gave the impression of sharing a series of passionate kisses choreographed to the music.
Cyrus first stunned audiences with the faux lesbian kiss during a performance earlier in the month on the UK’s Britain’s Got Talent, the Simon Cowell-created talent contest.
But she’s since insisted there is no kissing involved, just “rocking out.”
In Los Angeles, the entertainer told the audience that she had dedicated My Heart Beats for Love to her gay fans.
“I wrote this for my gay fans,” she said during the song’s introduction. “Everyone has the right to love each other and no one should feel discriminated or judged for that.”
While Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus are often criticized because of their flamboyant spins on minimalist fashion, Helen Mirren counts them as women who are embracing their sexuality.
The soon-to-be 65-year-old actress told New York magazine that she’s “thrilled young girls are claiming their sexuality for themselves.”
The women she loves, Mirren said in the interview, are bold, like
“Madonna and Scarlett Johansson—sexy and gorgeous, but not only that. And Miley Cyrus - fantastic!”
The same exclamation can be applied to Lady Gaga.
“I love the way she’s elevated pop to performance art, or dragged performance art down to pop, or maybe made a wonderful amalgam of the two,” Mirren said.
A star-studded gig dubbed “Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery” was just wrapped at the Bridgestone Arena on June 22. Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus were among the musical guests of the Tuesday evening which began with footage about the recent flood.
Taylor took the stage afterwards, delivering “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story”. While on stage, the 20-year-old country music singer told the concertgoers, “You’re my friends and my neighbors, and this is the place I love most in the world.” As for Miley, this “Can’t Be Tamed” singer brought “The Climb”.
Tickets for the concert ranged from $25 to $1,000 (for VIP packages). Tim McGraw estimated that the event would raise between 2 and 3 million dollars for the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Miley Cyrus debuted her sexier side last month in the steamy music video for “Can’t Be Tamed” and now, with the release of her album Monday, she is officially making the move from teen queen to rock star. So what’s the inspiration for the new look? “Miley’s style is a natural progression of her growing up and being influenced by the music that inspires her,” the singer’s stylist, Simone Harouche, tells PEOPLE, citing rock legends Joan Jett and Blondie. “The album cover was basically a strong statement saying in the most simple way, that she can’t be tamed–literally and metaphorically,” explains Harouche. To achieve Miley’s rebellious new look, Harouche turned to designer denim brand, Robins Jeans. “[Miley] is really into leather,” says Harouche. “Robins Jeans leather jacket is such a cool staple piece: It’s embellished without being overly done and the fit is amazing. It’s the perfect example of rock ’n’ roll clothing.” Pairing the studded jacket with a laced-up crop top and low-rise leather leggings from the brand, Miley looks every bit the good girl-gone-bad.
Miley Cyrus and her dad, Billy Ray, have a unique bond. The superstar pair are not only father and daughter in real life but they play those roles onscreen, too, on her hit Disney show, “Hannah Montana.” With all of her phenomenal success in the last few years, Miley has a special Father’s Day message for the man she says helped shape her career.
“My dad gets to come to my concert for Father’s Day,” she joked to MTV News. “I just want to tell my dad, ‘Happy Father’s Day,’ and that I love him so much. And he’s the best dad in the world and I would definitely not be pursuing this dream without him ’cause he always taught me to keep going.”
On “Good Morning America” Friday, Cyrus admitted that she tends to do more for her mom in celebration of Mother’s Day. Whereas for Father’s Day, the pop star joked that she tends to run out to the store real quick to grab something for Billy Ray.
Miley also explained to us that she has her dad to thank for teaching her some valuable lessons about handling negative press.
“It’s about being who you are. My dad has been in the spotlight for 20 years now and still every time he walks his dog they’re saying, ‘Billy Ray picks up dog poop,’ ” she said of the close scrutiny celebrities endure. “It’s like, ‘That’s a law in California, folks.’ You gotta do what you gotta do. That’s life for you. That’s life in the spotlight — it’s never gonna change.”
Don’t miss Miley Cyrus’ Can’t Be Tamed World Premiere Live concert, which will be live-streaming on Miley.MTV.com Monday at 10:30 p.m. ET — the preshow with Sway begins at 10:15 p.m.!
Miley Cyrus is about to take another step in her burgeoning transition from child star to mainstream leading lady. The singer, whose Can’t Be Tamed album comes out on Monday, is in talks to star in the big-screen adaptation of the thriller “Wake,” part of a trilogy of young-adult paranormal novels written by Lisa McCann.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cyrus, 17, is attached to star in the film, which is being adapted for the screen by “Disturbia” co-writer Christopher Landon. (The movie is being co-produced by MTV Films.) “Wake” is the first in a trilogy of novels by McCann that chronicle the adventures of 17-year-old Janie, a teenager who has been able to see into other people’s dreams since she was 8 years old. For the most part, the dreams have been of the falling/drowning/forgetting-your-pants variety, but when she begins visiting the disturbing nightmares of a local pothead named Cabel, she realizes she that the only way to survive is to go from being a witness to an active participant.
The film has sequel potential, as the adventures of Janie and Cabel continue in the follow-up novels “Fade” and “Gone,” and all three New York Times best-sellers have been optioned by MTV Films and Paramount. According to the Reporter, Cyrus’ commitment to “Wake” is contingent on the finished script.
Yesterday, Miley Cyrus told us that she isn’t trying to dress “slutty” and that she wants people to buy her album “because of my music.”
Okay then. Let’s take Miley up on this premise.
The next single she’ll release off “Can’t Be Tamed” is titled “Liberty Walk” and it encourages listeners to “say goodbye to the people that tied you up.”
Its aim is to be an inspiring anthem, telling people “all that really matters are the steps you take.” Listen below and then sound off…

“I can’t wait for my fans to be able to download and play five of my songs in ‘Rock Band,’ ” said Cyrus. “I love that people can rock out with me and play my new song ‘Can’t Be Tamed’!”

Miley Cyrus won’t be told what she should wear or what she should sing about.
The 17-year-old is releasing new album, “Can’t Be Tamed,” and is doing it her way, even though some say she is going to too far for her age.
“I’m not trying to be ’slutty,’” said Cyrus in a recent interview. “I’m not trying to be like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys … What I’m trying to do is to make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress.”
What she wears has been put under the spotlight recently. Some thought the video for “Can’t Be Tamed” was too provocative, and others have criticized her for revealing too much skin in her outfits.
Cyrus admits to being partial to shorts and hot pants. But she sees nothing wrong with flashing her legs.
“I’m really comfortable with my body, I work really hard to be fit and to know that I can wear whatever makes me most comfortable. I feel more comfortable dressing with a little less, which is just how I’ve always been,” she said.
“Now I’m able to do that a little more freely and, also, I’ve just grown up to be this way too. It’s not like this was me five years ago. It’s me now, presently.”
Maturing is Cyrus’ current mission.
She’ll finally shed the blonde wig of her Disney pop star persona, “Hannah Montana,” when it ends this year. Then Cyrus will be free to embrace her solo stardom and sex appeal.
“When you’re 11, the word you would use to describe someone is definitely not sexy, and as you get older I think you grow into that. And I think I’ve done that but that’s not my schtick. That’s not what I’m trying to do to sell records. I want people to buy my record because of my music.”
Miley aficionados may be wondering what her next album will bring: More uplifting country-tinged ballads, a la “The Climb”? Or more poppy earwigs like “Party in the U.S.A.”? As it turns out, Cyrus has a surprise in store-”Can’t Be Tamed” has several bass-heavy, slickly produced dance numbers that thunder in such a catchy, accessible way that it may make Ke$ha down another bottle of Jack out of envy.
“It was a natural progression for her,” says Abbey Konowitch, GM of Hollywood Records, which will make the album its first worldwide day-and-date release thanks in part to a new licensing deal with Universal Music Group in Europe. The title-track lead single turns the drum machine up to 11 as Cyrus belts out a party anthem chorus; it was sent to top 40 radio the week of May 3. “Who Owns My Heart” is full of ’80s-sounding keyboard riffs, and even the austerely named “Permanent December” is a throw-your-hands-in-the-air kind of track. “Two More Lonely People” also harks back to the ’80s, with Cyrus’ vocals reminiscent of Grace Slick’s on “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” In other words: Farewell, Hannah Montana.
Taylor Swift donated $500,000 to Nashville flood relief last week, and the country superstar is continuing to do her part by lending her talents to Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery on June 22. The event will be hosted by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, with funds helping Nashville recover from last week’s devastating floods.
Swift will be joined by fellow teen queen Miley Cyrus, as well as country stars like Carrie Underwood, Brooks & Dunn, LeAnn Rimes, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and more names to come, People reports. The June show is set to take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Funds will go to the Community Foundation, which provides philanthropic services in Middle Tennessee.
“The damage that we’ve seen to people’s homes and the effect that the flooding has had on their lives is unimaginable,” McGraw and Hill said in a statement. “But we’ve seen the spirit of our community firsthand, as volunteers, church groups and our local business leaders rally to help. We all need to continue to support those in need in any way that we can, and for that reason, we could not be more appreciative to all of the artists, the companies and the people behind the scenes who collectively will make June 22 a truly special night.”
I’ve gathered a few reviews from some top websites on Miley’s newest video for Can’t Be Tamed. The video’s definitely making it’s rounds around the interweb! Read some excerpts on what they thought here:

…This video is a departure for the tween star, who seems like she’s more than ready to be taken serious. But smart: She isn’t moving too fast, honestly. - Tanner Stransky for EW.Com
While many are asking whether it’s too sexy, one thing is for sure: This ain’t ‘Hannah Montana.’ - PopEater.Com
…Fans and bloggers lit up the Web with comments ranging from “stunning, gorgeous, fierce” to “wow way too much for someone her age.” - Michelle Tan for People.Com
The title of the flick might be “LOL,” but the thought of the pair onscreen together already has fans thinking “OMG!”
“She plays my daughter,” Demi told us Friday (April 9) of the upcoming flick. “It’s a remake of a French film called ‘LOL,’ with the same French director [Lisa Azuelos]. She’s incredible.”
Moore was promoting her new movie with actor David Duchovny to MTV.
“Can I come visit you on set with my daughter?” asked Duchovny, who watches “Hannah Montana” with his 10-year-old, knowing he’d get immediate cred as a hip dad.
“Yes, you can,” promised Moore, revealing that the film will shoot outside of Los Angeles. “But you will have to travel on location.”
“She’s funny,” Duchovny added, revealing himself as an unlikely fan of the “Last Song” actress. “I watch it with my kids, and I’ll be like, ‘That girl is funny!’ ”
“I’m really looking forward to it,” Moore said of the flick, which casts Miley as a teen who gets dumped by her boyfriend while her mother is simultaneously getting over her divorce, causing both to seek out new love while struggling to remain close to each other.
Recently, Moore met with Miley, and she told us they hit it off and the film is full-speed ahead. “We’re just kind of getting going,” Moore said.
“She’s great, and I think that she is incredibly grounded.”
Moore also said she got to spend some time with Billy Ray Cyrus, who makes it a point to stay involved in his daughter’s career. “[Miley] is a true professional, and she truly has a wonderful family,” Moore said. “It really shows.”
