Miley Talks Tour, Growing Up, and Twitter Feedback
Miley Cyrus doesn’t need to look at the music charts to know that her songs are making a connection with the fans — all she has to do is update her Twitter page.
“I’m stoked that people have been so supportive,” she says of her latest project, the EP “The Time of Our Lives. “On my Twitter, (I get) so many replies like ‘This song inspires me’ and ‘This inspires me.’ … One of the reasons why I love that site is being able to see what people are saying about the record.”
Of course, having a best-selling record is good reassurance too — and Miley getting plenty of it these days. The EP is near the top of the charts and her song “The Climb” has been No. 1 on Billboard’s adult contemporary chart for weeks.
It’s just another example of the maturing career of the 16-year-old Miley. While she’s still known to millions as the star of the Disney phenomenon “Hannah Montana,” she’s not just a teen queen anymore. VH1 crowned her as one of their “Divas,” she’s in an upcoming movie playing a defiant teen and she’s calling the shots on her “Wonder World” tour.
Miley recently talked to The Associated Press about her new show, growing up and what being a diva means to her.
AP: Describe the new album “The Time of Our Lives.”
Miley: It is a transitioning album. … Everything is like a stepping stone. And that was really to introduce people to what I want my next record to sound like and with time I will be able to do that a little more and timing is just everything. So it is really about us working our way up to being able to do the music you really love.

The Press Doesn’t Respect Miley
Talking to CNN in the midst of a rehearsal for her 2009 Wonder World Tour, Miley asserted that the press hasn’t been fair to her.
Referring to the recent controversy surrounding her pole dancing at the Teen Choice Awards, which had become an instant YouToube sensation, Miley was asked if she believed the press had been respectful of her.
“No,” said Miley categorically. “I think the media always tries to, kind of, overdo it.”
Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, had come under attack when he justified Miley’s pole dancing saying she is an entertainer.
“It is really no one else’s business how my parents raise me,” Miley says. “I have one of the best parents in the world. I have a much more open relationship [with them] than a lot of my friends have.”
“I do love performing and entertaining, so I would not give up that for anything.”
As to her tour show, Miley says:
“It is more or less a mature show…it’s edgy and it’s rock and roll, but is so young,” says the 16-year-old superstar of her show.
Miley’s tour kicks off on September 14, 2009 in Portland, Oregon and spans 45 dates across North America.

x01 – Peggy Sirota for Glamour, 2009
She’s a multiplatinum hit machine. Her franchise is worth nearly a billion dollars. And, oh yeah, she just got her learner’s permit. You are now entering the crazy, chaotic and completely fun world of Miley Cyrus—fasten your seat belt and hang on as the teen superstar opens up about life, regrets and becoming a woman.
The night before the Oscars, I meet Miley Cyrus at a sushi restaurant in L.A. Like any other fashion-obsessed teenager, she’s bubbling on excitedly about the dress she’s planning to wear the next evening. Her “happy-to-be-invited-to-the-party” attitude is a cute contradiction, given all she’s accomplished so far: Her Disney Channel sitcom, Hannah Montana, debuted as the highest-rated show in the network’s history; one of the series’ soundtracks went double-platinum; tickets for her “Best of Both Worlds” concert tour grossed $55.2 million; and now she’s starring in Hannah Montana: The Movie. The G-rated feature promises to be another huge boost for the Hannah Montana franchise, which is currently projected to be worth more than—ready for this?—$1 billion.
All that’s fine and good, but the 16-year-old is itching to move on to the next phase of her life. She’s maturing professionally (this is her first women’s magazine cover) and personally: Cyrus is dating a 20-year-old model, Justin Gaston. Along the way, she has had to navigate controversy for the first time. She did a shoot for Vanity Fair in which she posed wearing pretty much just a sheet. More seriously, a snapshot surfaced several months ago of Cyrus goofing around with friends and pulling her eyes into slits. The photo sparked accusations of insensitivity to Asians.
Although Cyrus is under far more scrutiny than the average teen, she seems unfazed by her fishbowl existence, talking candidly about the woman she hopes to be and every other topic thrown her way. Read on to catch this mini-mogul on the cusp of change.
GLAMOUR: OK, so I’m sitting here, eating sushi with you, and I have to say, you seem like a totally normal young woman! How is this possible?
MILEY CYRUS: [Laughs.] I think at some point during everyone’s life, you finally figure yourself out. I haven’t even done that yet. I’m still learning who I am.
Miley Talks About Bolt!
Miley Cyrus is the star of a long-running television show and films, a recording artist and an accomplished stage entertainer. Now, the 16-year-old Cyrus is adding another credit to her resume. She stars in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ latest project, BOLT, as Penny, a young girl with her own action-adventure show that she shares with her best friend—her dog named Bolt. But off-screen, Penny isn’t allowed to enjoy time with the pup, because that would spoil the illusion painstaking created and maintained by the director and crew…Bolt believes he actually possesses the special effects-driven super powers that save Penny on a weekly basis. Cyrus recently took a break from her dizzying schedule to speak to us about BOLT.
Q: You’re an actress and a performer. In animation, we only get to hear your voice. What was it like just relying on your voice?
MILEY CYRUS: Ever since I was little, people would always make jokes about my low voice. But they also complimented me on it—‘it’s so different, it’s so low.’ But still, in school, people would make fun of it. But now, I think it’s so cool that you don’t have to have the picture-perfect, girly voice to do an animated film. I think it’s great for kids with different voices to know that they could do something like this.
Q: How many dogs do you have? It comes across in your voice when your character is playing with Bolt.

Miley Sued for $4 Billion?!

1st off – this is absolutely ridiculous. Even IF chinky eyes were what they were initially going for this is way out of hand. Miley DOES NOT need to pay every Asian in L.A. for taking a picture. While this association is talking about paying for her damage to the culture. Uhh…Excuse me? What damage was caused by it? The fact that they chose to take it the wrong way. And why exactly are only the Asians that live in the L.A. area singled out by getting a piece of my homegirl? I’m half Asian Pacific Islander and I don’t see any money on my plate. The ONLY reason they’re trying to milk Miley (no pun intended) is because she’s at an amazing point in her life right now and they know she gettin’ paid (listen to DIVA, verse 2, by Beyoncé). They need to step off. This Lucie Kim sees an opportunity to get some of Miley’s money. This is ridiculous and everyone knows it. I’d like to take an example from 2snaps – Has anyone seen the Olsen Twins’ New York Minute? I used to love that movie and a certain white guy’s character was a whole stereotype of Asians. No uproar about that, and I thought that was pretty offensive. Check yourself again, Kim. You are ridiculous.
Everybody wants a piece of Miley Cyrus, but in this case, an entire culture wants a piece of her–a big piece.
Asian Pacific Islanders who live in L.A. County are filing a class action lawsuit against the teen queen for mocking them in a recent photo. Lucie J. Kim claims to represent more than 1 million Asian Pacific Islanders, who are livid with Miley and want monetary compensation.
According to TMZ, Kim says in the suit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, that each Asian Pacific Islander is entitled to the minimum damages for a civil rights violation — $4,000.
Kim added that she doesn’t care if Miley is “just a kid” and she should pay up for the “damage” she caused. Uh…she’s 16!
While it’s upsetting that Miley would take a photo like that, suing her for $4 billion dollars is pretty ridiculous. She already apologized (twice!) for the photo and understands that she upset people. She shouldn’t have to cough up $4 Billion dollars for the mistake. What do you guys think? Is the lawsuit understandable or is it absurd?

Miley Texts Nick on Grammys Red Carpet
Miley Cyrus hit the Grammy red carpet looking great, actually, too great for her age. M was chatting with the always funny Ross The Intern when he was dishing of his love for the Jonas Brothers. “I’ll text them for you,” M.C. said as she flipped open her phone. So which JoBro did M choose?
Her ex Nick! M joked that Ross was going to have to tell Nick he had her text them or else Nick would be “weirded.” So we had to ask little Cy if they really are “all good.”
Loved your nonchalant texting to your ex M! So do you think it is possible, then, to stay friends after dating?
“Oh yeah, I mean I think so. It should be easy because you’re friends first, like in our case, and still friends even if you do break up. ”
Of course perky Cyrus has nothing but smiles about her ex. She’s the one who’s dating someone else! Score one for M, but after seeing Nick over the weekend, we think he’ll have no problem finding a suitor. More to come on that later.

Miley and Taylor Swift-Duet at the Grammys!
Best believe I’ll be recording and uploading the performance RIGHT after it airs!
They may not have been able to make sweet—or at least lasting—music with the Jonas Brothers, but Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift are giving it a go with each other.
The fresh-faced songbirds are teaming up to perform a duet of the Swift-penned tune “Fifteen” at this weekend’s Grammy Awards.
“We were trying to figure out different things that would be cool,” Swift told E! News’ Ryan Seacrest this morning. “We all kind of agreed, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if Miley was up there too and we’re singing together?’ And we’re excited about it.”
That is, provided Selena Gomez and Camilla Belle don’t sign on as last-minute presenters.
In a call from Nashville, Cyrus told Seacrest that Swift’s lyrics “are very inspiring” and hit close to home for the Disney superstar.
“This song is perfect for the Grammys,” she said.
Cyrus, currently at the ripe old age of 16, also said that she, like most teens, spent her formative 15th year “thinking you know everything,” before realizing, “the only thing you’re left with are your best friends.”
Of which she apparently counts Taylor as one—and vice versa.
“We’ve known each other for a while,” Cyrus said, while Swift added, “We’ve definitely been there for each other.”
As for their rapidly dwindling practice time, the girls said they planned to meet up in Nashville tomorrow for “some rehearsing and hanging out.”
Miley’s Getting ‘Wilder’?
Supposedly, a bodyguard has spoken out against Miley and mom Tish to Star Magazine. Not entirely sure if it’s true nor if the article written has any truth in it considering the wording such as ‘smoochy’. Sounds like another former bodyguard attempting to gain a little attention and start pointless things ala Britney and her former bodyguard making claims against the Pop Princess/Mother. Read the article below.
Almost a year ago, shocking pictures of Miley Cyrus in her underwear and kissing a girlfriend surfaced on the internet – and now there are more outrageous revelations about the 16-year-old spitfire. The Hannah Montana starlet is dating 20-year-old model Justin Gaston, but in private, she still likes to lock lips with girls!
“Miley’s a little hell-raiser behind closed doors,” says a celebrity minder who worked with her. “Limo rides are a total party, blasting music and snapping risque pictures – a lot of them she wouldn’t want anyone to see, or she’d be in big trouble!”
What could be so scandalously embarrassing? The Disney darling gets all smoochy with her girlfriends, the minder explains. “It’s all a big thrill for her, and she’s only getting wilder, so I’m sure another scandal is right around the corner for that girl.”
Miley’s mom is no better, says the former bodyguard. “I hate working for Tish Cyrus because she’s so
damnrude and bossy. She acts like you’re a servant more than a professional there to protect them.”Source: Star Magazine
