x08 (Newly Added) – The District in South Jordan Movie Theater April 10, 2009

Miley Cyrus made a surprise appearance at a South Jordan screening of Hannah Montana: The Movie on Friday.

The previews before the movie had already begun when the projector suddenly stopped and an announcer came out with a microphone explaining they were having technical difficulties.

The Disney TV and pop star then walked out in front of hundreds of fans at The District Theater and spoke to hundreds of shocked kids and adults.

Cyrus’ father Billy Ray also appeared to promote Friday’s nationwide opening of the movie based on the popular Disney Channel show.

Miley and Billy Ray then posed for some pictures with some of the kids.

The pair was expected to make similar appearances at other locations across the country.

It’s Miley mania now that Hannah Montana: The Movie has hit theaters. The Disney Channel series that began in 2006 is finally getting its cinematic sendup.

“We’re supposed to be in Malibu, I’m going to school and I’m living the Hollywood life and everything,” Miley Cyrus, 16, says of the movie’s plot. “That begins to be a problem, so we come back to Nashville, and we’re home.”

I caught up with the all-star cast including Miley, Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment, Lucas Till and Taylor Swift, who dished up seven secrets from the flick.

1. TAYLOR SWIFT GOT HER ACTING BREAK IN ‘HANNAH MONTANA.’
Although the Love Song singer has appeared on CSI, Hannah Montana: The Movie was actually the first role she ever filmed.

“It feels good to be in the Hannah Montana movie, especially because I don’t have to do much acting because I’m playing myself,” Taylor, 19, tells me. “I thought it was cool because that’s my first experience ever with a major motion picture. It’s good to ease your way into something like that.”

It’s no wonder Miss Hannah Montana picked Taylor for the plum part.

“I’ve known Miley for a long time, and knowing her, it’s just so refreshing that she’s not jaded by having to be in an adult world,” Taylor tells me. “She’s still a kid.”

Heyyyyy everybody! I’m finally back. I haven’t been on my computer since Thursday night! I have a few things to do (besides Miley) today, but I collected all I missed in updates and will be doing so tonight/tomorrow. I also have TONS of surprises and all that coming up. Hannah Montana: The Movie premieres have begun! Tonight was the first of 2 (New York City Tuesday) premieres of the Hannah movie! Miley looked amazingly-gorgeous on the red carpet. She was pictured with her dad, Demi Lovato, and Taylor Swift. I’ve added 7 medium quality photos of Miley at the premiere to the gallery. More will be coming (hopefully) tomorrow. I’m going to be in New York until Monday, so I’m not entirely sure how much internet access I’ll have. I am bringing my laptop, so if I can’t get anything in the hotel, I can go over to Starbucks or something. I have plenty of surprises in store for you all. From exclusive pictures to a big change in the site! They’re all great. I promise. So if I don’t update until Tuesday or Monday night, when I should be returning home, you know why! Enjoy the photos!
